I See You is a crime thriller with a sustained threat that will leave you looking over your shoulder and changing your route to work every other day. Forget your grotty women on trains seeing something that isn’t even interesting or your pshyco wives who have too much time on their hands. However, there were many factors pushing me to pick up this book: an awesome cover, an intriguing title, an enticing book blurb, and an overwhelming sense to find ‘the next best thriller’ for myself. My expectations are high and I’ve been left pretty let down after reading ‘the year’s biggest thriller’ or ‘better than Gone Girl’, on more than one occasion.

When it comes to thrillers, I’m rather picky. Is it a mistake? A coincidence? Or is someone keeping track of every move they make. But the next day the advert shows a photo of a different woman, and another the day after that. She takes it home to her family, who are convinced it’s just someone who looks like Zoe. There’s no explanation: just a website, a grainy image and a phone number. When Zoe Walker sees her photo in the classifieds section of a London newspaper, she is determined to find out why it’s there.
